Michael Porten earned a B.F.A. in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2004 and is working towards an M.F.A. in painting from SCAD. Porten has had recent solo exhibitions at Hall Street Gallery, Savannah, Georgia, 2008; and Galeries de l'Olivier, Lacoste, France, 2009. His work has also been included in recent group exhibitions at Late Show Gallery, Kansas City, Missouri, 2008; Miami Art Basel Satellite Fair (ARTery Art Fair), Miami, Florida, 2009; and SCAD Gallery, Hong Kong, 2010.Porten is part of the "Six in One: SCAD in New American Paintings" exhibitions as part of deFINE ART 2011, Jan. 10-Feb. 25, 2011 at SCAD Atlanta's Gallery See, and Feb. 11-Feb. 25, 2011 at Alexander Hall Gallery in Savannah.
