Addio del Passato
Oct. 27, 2012 - Feb. 3, 2013

The SCAD Museum of Art presents "Addio del Passato," an exhibition of new works by artist Yinka Shonibare, MBE. The exhibition will feature photographs from Shonibare’s allegorical "Fake Death Pictures" series, sculptures, and the film "Addio Del Passato" (“So Closes My Sad Story”) that collectively explore themes of desire, love, repression and power. These works weave together conceptual impressions of colonialism using a theatrical vocabulary and visual imagery that speak to history through the lens of the present.

Reception: Jan. 25, 6-7:30 p.m.

The exhibition is free with SCAD Museum of Art admission.
