Explore how the studio craft movement impacted jewelry design at "MAG to SNAG: American Studio Jewelry 1940–1970," a lecture presented by Toni Greenbaum.

The studio craft movement swept the U.S. in the years following World War II. During this period, artisans from across myriad creative practices experimented with nontraditional materials and innovative techniques, resulting in a new kind of contemporary art, the likes of which Americans had never before seen.

Examining the work of such famed designers as Alexander Calder, Art Smith, Sam Kramer, Margaret De Patta and more, Greenbaum will discuss how these pioneering designers shaped mid-20th century studio jewelry within the context of formative organizations, educational opportunities, museum exhibitions, publications and commercial activity.
