Meet with Swiss-born, Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist Christina Forrer as she speaks with Ariella Wolens, assistant curator of SCAD exhibitions, about the sumptuous tapestries and paintings that make up Forrer’s inaugural museum exhibition, Feet of the Devil. Additionally, gain insight into Marcus Dunn’s (M.F.A., painting, 2017) Other Youth exhibition during a conversation with Ben Tollefson, assistant curator of SCAD exhibitions. The two will discuss Dunn’s ongoing painting exploration of his Native American heritage as a member of the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina. Finally, explore the commissioned site-specific installation in the museum’s Jewel Boxes by artist Raphaël Barontini, as he discusses the legacy of Frederick Douglass and how this radical icon inspired his intervention in the museum’s public spaces.
