In Ira Lombardía’s (b. 1977, Asturias, Spain) SCAD MOA exhibition VOID, viewers use the VOIDX app to transform the artist’s iconoclastic gestures into their own acts of creation, digitally altering the works with other images or videos.
Join Lombardía, SCAD MOA curator DJ Hellerman, SCAD students Amir Ahmadi (M.F.A. interactive design and game development; B.F.A., interactive design and game development, 2019) and Brie Nestler (M.F.A. service design), and SCAD professor of graphic design Jane Zash for a conversation about artistic collaboration and their work designing the VOIDX app.
With VOID, Lombardía’s first solo U.S. museum exhibition, the artist premieres a new experiential sculpture that marks a significant expansion of her process.
