From ancient civilizations to modern marvels, wood continues to revolutionize how buildings are designed and constructed. Join Dean Maltz, managing partner at Shigeru Ban Architects, for a rediscovery of timber, its impact on climate change, and how the international architecture firm continues to innovate with one of the world’s oldest building materials.

In this lecture, Maltz explores the challenges and merits of wood buildings, mapping the trajectory of many of the firm’s most inspired works, as detailed in the cache of insightful essays, technical drawings, and photographs in the firm’s recent publication Timber in Architecture.
