Join SCAD Museum of Art curators for this book club-style discussion series focused on three distinct aspects of art in the 21st century: video, painting, and contemporary art theory. Each group meets for three sessions, which are accompanied by preparatory readings and viewings for discussion.

SCAD MOA assistant curator Ariella Wolens leads this deep dive into the last 20 years of American video art. Participants discuss the ongoing transformation of moving image practices, while taking a close look at the exemplary approaches of artists Alex Bag, Barbara Hammer, and Arthur Jafa. Videos are screened virtually and subsequently discussed as a group, with a different artist serving as the subject for each meeting.
