The Walter and Linda Evans Center for African American Studies in collaboration with Kwanzaa365 Connection welcomes guests to an African dance learning opportunity in honor of Juneteenth. Participants will be immersed in the vibrant culture of West African dance in this 1.5-hour community dance class. Led by Imani Poole, who brings more than 20 years of experience to the dance floor, and accompanied by live drumming, this dynamic experience blends traditional African dance moves with the energetic vibrations of African drumming. This workshop is open to all ages and experience levels — including beginners and those with limited mobility — designed to inspire joy, promote fitness, and celebrate cultural connection.

Dress in comfortable clothing and arrive ready to express yourself and celebrate! If any movement accommodations should be considered on your behalf, let us know in advance when you register.

RSVP to Evans Center director Andreia Wardlaw at [email protected].
