Fahm Hall
Built in 1970, this 13,562-square-foot facility was originally the home of Ivan Allen, an office supply and interior design firm. It was later purchased by Joseph Byrd and Associates, a stock photography company next door. Acquired by SCAD in 2001, the space is now home to the university’s jewelry department and features technology that enables students to fabricate, cast, finish, enamel, laser weld, anodize, electroplate, electroform, smith silver, and set stones. Tools include LaserStar Compact and LaserStar workstations for laser welding, a ROD Induction Heating Solution for casting, a microscope system, a Stratasys Dimension SST 1200 printer for ABS plastic, two Solidscape T66 wax printers, two Roland JWX-10 milling machines, and four advanced SensAble pens for digital sculpting, among other resources.
Eckburg Hall
Built in 1892 as Henry Street Elementary School, Eckburg Hall consists of three stories of red brick in the Queen Anne Revival style and features lavish terra-cotta ornamentation, a gabled central pavilion, and a monumental arched entrance. SCAD’s fashion and accessory design programs are housed in this exceptional facility, which features seven design studios, two lecture classrooms, a drawing and fashion sketching lab, two accessory design labs, a dedicated graduate studio, a CAD lab with Cintiq tablets, and a resource library that contains various fabrics, fashion books, and magazines.
SCAD LUXE
A luxury archive and research center, SCAD LUXE further elevates the university’s hallmark approach to hands-on education. Deepening students’ engagement with the billion-dollar global luxury industry, SCAD LUXE offers unparalleled access to rare and iconic goods, from couture garments and fine accessories to fragrances and bespoke objects. This tactile experience infuses academic excellence with real-world exploration of luxury’s most revered forms of design and craftsmanship.
