Join SCAD Museum of Art assistant curator Brittany Richmond for a members’ tour of Aaron Douglas: Sermons, featuring historic illustrations by Douglas (American, 1899–1979) and works by contemporary artists engaging the artist’s aesthetic, conceptual, and political legacy.
The works on view create a living connection to the Harlem Renaissance, while also actively shaping the aesthetics and politics of representation today. Get insight on connections between cultural history and contemporary art, as well as the curatorial process at the core of the exhibition.
The tour is followed by drinks and light bites on the terrace.
