Join poet Jasmine Reid and SCAD MOA’s Evans Center for African American Studies for the poetry workshop Be Longing, Be Holding, Be Loving.

Reid prompts participants to consider how the poetics of belonging — from borders to portals and sinews — empower us to rearrange language in ways that both witness and transcend systemic issues of displacement and ongoing violence. In collaboration with Reid, referencing poems and theories by poets, participants reckon with how language is deployed to separate and hierarchize, and how it can be reclaimed to extend toward what we long for, what we hold to be true, and what we love.
