The SCAD Museum of Art invites K–12 educators from the surrounding area to take part in a hands-on printmaking workshop inspired by the innovative processes of Helen Frankenthaler. Referencing works from the museum’s permanent collection — specifically 10 Frankenthaler prints gifted by the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation — this session offers a closer look at her groundbreaking approach to the print practice.
Participants will apply Frankenthaler’s methods alongside contemporary printmaking approaches through live demonstrations of fundamental techniques. The workshop is designed to provide practical strategies that can be adapted for K–12 classrooms across a range of grade levels.
Lunch will be provided for all attendees, offering an opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with fellow educators in a relaxed setting. Join us for an engaging day of creative exploration and classroom inspiration. All K–12 programming is complimentary at the SCAD Museum of Art.
