Writers workshop: Contemplate Afrofuturism with SCAD professor Sandra Daley
George Clinton artwork
When
Where

Join the Evans Center for African American Studies and SCAD dramatic writing professor Sandra Daley for an Afrofuturism-focused writers workshop inspired by funkmaster George Clinton. Engage with Dr. Funkenstein’s fantastical artworks and multidimensional legacy on a docent-led tour of Cloaked in a Cloud, Disguised in the Sky. With Professor Daley, delve deep into the liberatory practice of imagining Black futures as you explore ideas of freedom and transcendence through cosmic imagery and mythology. Then, hone a world of your own making in a monologue and group performance piece.

This event is free and open exclusively to SCAD students.

RSVPs are encouraged. Email Evans Center director Andreia Wardlaw at [email protected].
