Members of the SCAD Museum of Art are invited to join Ben Tollefson, assistant curator of SCAD exhibitions, for a tour of exhibitions by Abel Macias (B.F.A., illustration, 2002), Lily van der Stokker and Michael James O’Brien, SCAD associate chair of photography. Learn more about internationally recognized contemporary art, as well as the curatorial process for exhibitions.

Join the SCAD Museum of Art for a docent-led tour of current exhibitions every Saturday. SCAD student docents provide thought-provoking analyses and fascinating information for a well-rounded appreciation of current works on view.

This tour is free for all museum members, and SCAD students, faculty and staff with a valid SCAD Card. Open to the public with the cost of museum admission.

'Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence' symposium

The SCAD Museum of Art presents a symposium in honor of "Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence," a group exhibition celebrating the centennial of the birth of the acclaimed painter, storyteller, educator and chronicler of the mid-20th-century African American experience. The two-day symposium consists of lectures, performances, screenings and panel discussions and brings together leading scholars, artists, SCAD alumni and students to commemorate Lawrence’s life and legacy.

Public reception for 'Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence'

Join us for a reception celebrating "Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence," a group exhibition commemorating the centennial of the birth of Jacob Lawrence, acclaimed painter, storyteller, educator and chronicler of the mid-20th-century American experience, on view through Feb. 4, 2018. The reception features a musical performance by SCAD alumnus George Lovett (B.F.A., performing arts, 2011) and Kim Steiner, SCAD vocal instructor and accompanist for performing arts.

This event is held in conjunction with the "Jacob Lawrence: Lines of Influence" symposium, Oct. 19–20.
