Suggestive of ceremonial garments, costume, haute couture and superhero apparel, Cave’s signature Soundsuits, or performative wearable sculptures, are intricately ornamented with reclaimed fabric and found objects selected for their symbolism and auditory function.
Novatt's series "Chaos" explores notions of matter, space and equilibrium. Rather than pointing to a tumultuous or chaotic conception of reality, the word "Chaos" in this context explores the internal and external dynamics of space — what happens inside, outside and around sculptural and linear forms. "Chaos Concepción," a monumental sculpture that defies gravity in seemingly effortless, kinetic construction, is permanently installed in the SCAD Museum of Art Alex Townsend Memorial Courtyard.
